Prado de La Escribana-Venta San Juan, Sunday 21 September 2014

This morning we checked out the recently-completed route from Prado de La Escribana (below Benarraba) to Venta San Juan; a lovely, gentle route with new bridges over some of the trickier sections! It was quite cloudy and humid but we avoided any rain.....

A gentle stroll from Estacion Benajoan to Cueva del Gato......part of a 9km limestone cave system that includes the cave at Hundidero, next to the 'failed dam'.

Walk reviews mid-Aug - early Sep 2014


Walking opportunities have been few during this period, largely due to the heat! After a relatively 'cool' July to mid-August, the end of August and the first week of September saw temperatures nudging 35C in Gaucin and 40C towards the coast. We did, however, manage some early-morning walking around San Martin de Tesorillo and Castellar de la Frontera as well as some more local routes; a selection of photos follow:
